Vintage Komon Silk Detachable Collar Tie — Navy Botanical Floral 草花文
Vintage Komon Silk Detachable Collar Tie — Navy Botanical Floral 草花文
Product Description
A refined reinterpretation of vintage Japanese silk, classic neckwear, and the detachable collar — this handcrafted piece is made from a high-quality vintage 100% silk komon kimono, featuring an elegant floral and botanical pattern on a deep navy ground.
The design brings together the crisp language of 19th-century detachable collars with the Japanese concept of date-eri / kasane-eri — a decorative layered collar used in formal kimono styling to add color, elegance, and refinement to the neckline.
Reimagined as a tie-integrated detachable collar, this piece is not a separate necktie and collar, but one integrated styling accessory. It can be worn over shirts, knitwear, dresses, jackets, or coats, adding a distinctive yet composed accent to the neckline.
For both the collar and tie sections, the outer patterned side of the vintage komon silk has been carefully selected. The textile features a rich botanical design with chrysanthemums, maple leaves, and seasonal flowers in ochre, green, white, red, and deep navy tones. The continuous use of the same patterned silk creates an expressive, textile-forward look while keeping the overall silhouette structured and wearable.

About the Design
Detachable collars were once an essential part of tailored dress, allowing the neckline to be changed, refreshed, and styled independently from the shirt itself.
In Japanese kimono styling, date-eri / kasane-eri is a decorative layered collar used to create the appearance of wearing multiple kimono layers, often adding color, elegance, and a sense of formality to the neckline.
This piece reinterprets these two ideas through vintage Japanese silk. The structured collar recalls the clarity of classic Western dress, while the richly patterned komon silk brings the rhythm and depth of Japanese textile artistry to the neckline.
It is designed not as a historical reproduction, but as a modern styling piece that connects classic tailoring with Japanese textile design.
