Rangiku 乱菊 Chrysanthemum Vintage Obi Silk Tote in Orange Silver
Rangiku 乱菊 Chrysanthemum Vintage Obi Silk Tote in Orange Silver
Product Description
A striking balance of traditional Japanese silk and clean modern form, this structured tote is handcrafted in Japan from a vintage 100% silk fukuro obi — a formal kimono sash traditionally worn for ceremonial dress.
One side features a bold rangiku chrysanthemum in vivid orange and gold against a softly luminous silver ground, while the reverse reveals the same flowing chrysanthemum design in quiet white and silver tones. The contrast between the two sides allows the bag to shift beautifully in mood, from vibrant statement piece to softer understated elegance.
Finished with coordinated obijime handles and a clean architectural silhouette, this tote brings refined impact to simple spring, summer, and early autumn dressing.
Why It’s Special
- Vintage 100% silk fukuro obi – Made from a formal Japanese kimono sash woven with luminous metallic threads and a dramatic rangiku motif.
- Two graceful expressions – A vivid orange chrysanthemum on one side and a softer white-silver chrysanthemum on the reverse offer two distinct moods in one piece.
- Handcrafted in Japan – Carefully made by a Japanese artisan with nearly 30 years of experience.
- One of a kind – Each bag is cut from a different section of a vintage obi and paired with vintage obijime, so no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

We work with trusted workshops to preserve the individuality of each piece while maintaining consistent quality.
Notes on Vintage Textiles
This piece is made from carefully selected vintage obi and obijime. Slight age-related marks may remain and are embraced as part of the textile’s history and authenticity.
Please also note that minor surface fuzzing from the original vintage obi may be visible in the thicker woven areas of the chrysanthemum motif. Please refer to the photos for details.
Photos are taken with a Nikon DSLR in natural daylight without flash. Actual colors may vary slightly depending on lighting conditions and screen settings.
